Spring work has started

Kathy and I traveled to Rockland yesterday and got Oriane's winter cover off.  Kathy did an inventory diagram of the lockers while I stripped the name and hailing port label off the stern quarters. I started with a heat gun but found out about a special drill powered rubber eraser designed specifically for doing the job.  Took nearly an hour to peal one letter off with the heat gun.  The eraser designed for the auto restoration industry was found at an auto parts store for c. $12.  Worked like a champ.  Got the rest of the letters off the boat in about 1/2 hour.
Oriane - old graphics off.
Our friend Wayne Cronin stopped by and to look at the projects and lend a bit of help getting our dodger out from below decks. Kathy and I installed the dodger before calling it a day with 5 hours of work behind us. The list is long, but all will be crossed off before we launch.  Here's the updated list.

February Visit to Oriane

We made a visit to inspect Oriane on a midwinter day to make sure everything was still in order.....it was. We've been planning our summer and the possibilities are endless at the moment.

Our liferaft is being serviced at Chase Leavitt in Portland. Considering a hard case mounted on deck to save space below decks.

Winter cover is doing fine.

Bubblewrap to protect the hull from the hold down lines.
